What are the Words I Most Want to Hear?

Today I was thinking about communicating with my family better after reading words from Whatever Arises, Love That A Love Revolution That Begins With You, by Matt Kahn. He says, “…Just by repeating out loud the words you didn’t hear often enough or never heard at all, you guarantee yourself to be the one who exits each scene of life more healed, aligned, and expanded than the moment before.” I began to wonder what my daughter’s wanted to hear. I realized that it might be similar to what I wanted to hear and so, began an exercise to determine what exactly that would be. Here is the list I have created so far:

  • You can take all of the time you need.
  • It is not selfish to say no.
  • You don’t have to be like everyone else.
  • The only person’s opinion that matters is your own.
  • You have more strength that you know.
  • You are not alone.
  • I am so sorry you are hurting.
  • I am sorry that happened to you.
  • I am sorry they said/did that to you.
  • It’s okay to feel what you are feeling.
  • It’s okay to not be “okay.”
  • It’s okay to do things your way.
  • You are special.
  • You are enough.
  • You don’t have to do anything to be enough and be loved.
  • You can make the choices in your life.
  • You are loved unconditionally.

I am going to continue to look at, revise, and add to this list. I think these are the things we need to be saying to ourselves. Why not try this yourself? Treat yourself like your own best friend instead of shaming and degrading yourself. Miracles can and will occur if you are truthful and compassionate with yourself.

Much Love,

Peace Goddess
