I am having another one of those weeks were there is a definite lull in my energy. Actually, it comes and goes. At times I could just sit and stare out the window and ignore all of the rest of life completely. Conversely, at other times, I seem to have boundless energy and move quickly and assuredly through a myriad of tasks. Right now, this is not one of those times.
The question to ask ourselves is, “is this really such a bad thing?” We place so much pressure and judge our every move (or non-move) that we never really know what is the perfect balance for us in the moment. When I do something fun but seemingly non-productive like watch a humorous show or work on my 5th crossword puzzle of the day, I begin to question and berate myself for not “doing” more. How do I know that I am not doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing in that moment? Simply put, I don’t. So why do we treat ourselves with such hatred over the littlest things?
Frankly, sometimes I realise that we take this world too darn seriously. That’s not to say that there aren’t serious issues in the world. I mean on a day-to-day basis most of us create way more drama and problems than there would be if we just allowed ourselves the space to Be.
Yes, even when we are lazy, “Blissfully lazy,” we may in fact be being productive. We all need times to unwind and reconnect to that inner Goddess or God that knows they deserve to be pampered and rest. But why is it so hard to do this?
Perhaps it begins with a misperception, a myth about productivity. We grow up in a society that teaches us to believe that working hard is the only moral way to be and that any pleasure and lack of drudgery is a sin. Before you think I mean that we should always sit around in a state of non-action, think again. It just seems like what we take for appropriate action needs to be looked at for what it is, a false belief.
It is extremely productive to have down time. Some of the most productive people on Earth make time to meditate and just have “frivolous” fun. It opens up your energy and allows for all of the good to come in—more ideas, more energy, and more health.
Why does this happen? Because we are vibrational beings, when we open up to the lightness and joy which comes from pleasure, we are a vibrational match to more of the same. Also, we are more mindful and able to have more clarity of thought without all of the distractions of busyness. So why not schedule some time for fun and relaxation today? I know I am going to!
Much Love,
Peace Goddess
