“Meditation is like giving a hug to ourselves, getting in touch with that awesome reality in us. While mediating we feel a deep sense of intimacy with God, a love that is inexplicable.” Paramahansa Yogananda
Today I am grateful for meditation. I have been meditating pretty regularly for the past two years and feel like my life would not be the same without it. Meditation has become the ultimate surrender into love for me. When I just allow myself to take the time to quiet my mind and body every part of me feels peaceful. For the longest time meditation seemed so out of reach for me. I couldn’t sit still for a couple of minutes without my mind racing and feeling like I was going to jump out of my skin. What has helped is realizing that the way my thoughts race is just the way I am at the moment. I accept that the thoughts or sensations are there and don’t try to fight them. I notice them and let them go—sometimes this is easy and sometimes it isn’t. The practice is always rewarding, however. On days when I don’t take the time to centre myself through meditation the world seems a bit more frantic and chaotic. I am so thankful that I can now meditate and free myself, even momentarily, from this world’s illusions.
Much Love,
Peace Goddess
