The Child Within

Who are we really? If you can, imagine yourself as a baby, a sweet innocent being, a spark of God. We are all that. Now, think about your self-criticism and judgement being placed on that small human. What does that feel like? Essentially that is what we do to ourselves and other’s everyday. We shame and criticize with “not good enough’s” and “should’s” instead of honouring and loving the truth of who we are. The truth that we are loveable, magnificent beings, we are all as unique as snowflakes and bring our own special magic that we are meant to share with the world.

Now, go back to that sweet inner-child that is you and instead of berating and shaming that sweet being, send it love. Actually say, “I love you,” out loud to that part of you and all parts of you that are hurting. Tell those parts all that you wish had been said to you when you were a baby, when you were a young child, a teen, young adult, now. It is possible for you to be that loving parent to all the parts of you touched by trauma and shame. Start here and you will see the world through eyes and hearts filled with compassion and understanding.

Just my thoughts and, as always, these teachings are for myself. My writing always becomes the perfect reminder of what I need to hear in that moment.

Much Love and Peace to you,

Peace Goddess
